Paseo Verde Library

Went for a "Meet the author" event. It was a children's author named Bill Clanton. He writes a series of books about a narwhal and a jellyfish. It started at 6 and he spoke for about an hour before he started the book signing. Many of the people stayed so their children could get their books signed. The library itself is very clean, very well laid out and the staff very friendly. However many of the families had multiple children and multiple books to be signed. Kids will be kids....... but....... the majority of these kids were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. And their parents were letting them. If I ever would have acted like that in the library my mom would've whooped my tail. I kept my tongue-in-cheek and did not let my thoughts come out of my mouth. I waited patiently in line with my daughter for over an hour and a half with all the ruckus going on around us and finally got to the front of the line to have her book signed. The poor staff looked tired and like they wanted to say something as well but they kept a smile on their face and kept the line moving as quickly as possible. Overall it was a good experience and I can't wait for the next "meet the author" event.

Security Officer Ladas was extremely helpful showed me around the library where I could find everything I needed and pointed me to the right direction to people who could help me if she could not. She was extremely polite. The staff there were extremely friendly and it was a very positive experience from the start of walking in. Officer Ladas also showed me where to get great coffee and extremely nice service in the coffee shop as well.

There is a coffee shop with patio seating. Plenty of parking with a book drop in the parking lot. Easy access for those who use wheelchairs or walkers. There is a lot of natural light and the building has a very comfortable feel. The employees are extremely helpful. They have a good selection of books as well as audio books and videos.

The facility was clean and my kids loved the kids section. The workers are less than pleasant. I took my son to get his first library card and none of the workers made it an enjoyable expierence. My kid left saying "they weren't very nice." All the way home! That's all he could remember is how the people made him feel at his first visit to the library.
